Veerappan's wife seeks ban on film


CHENNAI, JAN 11. Sandalwood smuggler late Veerappan's wife Muthulakshmi, has sought a ban on a film on her husband, alleging that it portrays her and Veerappan in bad light.

Muthulakshmi, while addressing a press conference, said the director or producer of the film  Vanayutham never discussed the story with her. She said that the film would infl uence the pending case against her. Vanayutham, directed by M R Ramesh, will be released in Kannada as Attakaasam.

A case has been filed in a Chennai Court. In a recent interview, director Ramesh has said that his film will show "exactly how Veerappan met his end."

Actor Kishore will play the role of Veerappan while Vijayalakshmi will essay the role of Muthulakshmi and Jeyabalan plays a military officer who played an important role in Veerappan's death. Suresh Oberoi will play Dr Rajkumar in the film. The producer has agreed to hold the screening of the film till the case is disposed.
